INTRODUCTION
The enhanced performance of post emergent chemicals using surfactants has been well documented by both government
and private research. Surfactants are usually mixtures of more than one product. They are not interchangeable and it is
important to understand the difference between a non-ionic surfactant such as AGRAL 90, and other oil concentrates.

WHAT IS AGRAL 90?
AGRAL 90 is a non-ionic surfactant made up of 90% Nonylphenoxy Polyethyoxy Ethanol. Non-ionic means that there are no
positive or negative ions to compete or react with the active chemistry of the product being tank mixed.

HOW DOES AGRAL 90 WORK?
AGRAL 90 reduces the surface tension of the water droplets causing them to flatten or spread on the leaf surface. This
allows more surface area for the chemical to come in contact with the leaf. AGRAL 90 also helps break down the waxy
cuticle of the leaf allowing more chemical uptake.

WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE AGRAL 90?
AGRAL 90, used at label rates, is noted for its excellent crop safety. It is the product of choice by manufacturers for
enhanced product performance. It is generally recommended for emulsifiable concentrates and some of the more highly
active, low use rate herbicides. See Table 1.

HOW MUCH AGRAL 90 DO I NEED?
The amount of AGRAL 90 needed is specific to each chemical being mixed. The rate is thoroughly tested by each
manufacturer for optimum performance. Adding a lower rate of AGRAL 90 will not allow the spray droplets to flatten or
spread. A higher than label rate of AGRAL 90 may cause the spray droplets to run off the leaf. See Tables 1 and 2.

Use AGRAL 90 for cleaning sprayers
The ideal time for cleaning sprayers is right after the spray job is completed.

1.Add 30 ml of AGRAL 90 per 50 L of water to the spray tank and agitate.
2.Clean the tank, booms and hoses first. Then clean nozzles, screens and strainers. This is especially important
when using higher active, low use-rate herbicides.
3.Dispose of all wastes according to municipal requirements.
4.Follow by thorough rinsing with clean water.
